There are different types of projectors now and whenever an individual plans to buy a projector, one should consider a variety of factors in order to choose the best and most suitable appliance depending on the intended use. If you plan to buy projector appliances, what are the factors that you need to consider? If you keep the following questions in mind, you will soon sort out which will suit your particular requirements.

What Image Size and Quality Do I Need?

Before you decide to buy projector appliances and accessories, you should first consider image size and quality.

Light Output – the higher the Lumens, the stronger the image. Be aware that the light output is sometimes less under battery power than when plugged into mains.

  • Distance of projector from the viewing surface - the further away, the larger the picture. At a certain distance you will also run out of focal ability so the image will begin to “fuzz”
  • Ambient Light – the darker the room the better the picture; there will always be some light dissipation at greater distances especially in lighter conditions.
  • Quality of Input – Images and large text will always be easier to see than small text.
  • Quality of Viewing Surface – screen or wall, depending on your requirements, you may want to carry a portable screen with you. Pale coloured walls are generally quite satisfactory

How Big or Small Should the Projector Be?

Portability is also a factor that needs to be considered when one plans to buy projector equipment. There are models that vary when it comes to size and weight.  True portability means it will fit comfortably in your laptop bag, handbag or pocket.

What is Ideal Resolution?

Ideally when one needs to buy projector appliances, the main question to consider is:  is it a toy or a business tool?  Don’t go lower than 30 Lumens for business.  If you want your presentation to pack a punch, then go for higher Lumens like the HOTS UltraMaxx.  With 240 Lumens of pure professional presentation power this is definitely a projector to be considered for professional presentations and serious home cinema.

Is A Widescreen Format Needed?

When you are planning to buy projector equipment, you also have to ask yourself if you really need a widescreen format. If you wish to use your projector for videos and games, then you will certainly need a widescreen format.   Home cinemas may also require widescreen format.  However, the majority of business presentations would not need this feature.

These are just some of the questions that you need to ask yourself when you plan to buy projector equipment. Keep in mind that you should also watch your budget. Deciding on which projector to buy does not need to be a daunting task. If you just consider the right questions, then you’ll get the most suitable projector for your requirements and budget.
