What to Expect from a Portable Projector

Ever since the invention of the smartphone, all electronic devices are endeavoring to become smarter with every passing day. Most devices today are capable of multi-tasking and they generally pack more functions than what is expected of them. Not only this, electronic devices today are growing sleeker and smaller to fit right into the palm of our hands. The portable projector has succeeded in this transition and we can find mini projectors that can easily fit into our pockets.

A portable projector as the name suggests, is not mounted on a wall or a ceiling but can be carried around. The portability adds a host of benefits as most portable projectors have a rechargeable battery and they can be used to deliver a presentation anywhere. They can project onto a portable projector screen or on any flat surface. These micro projectors come in handy dimensions and are small enough to fit in your handbag or laptop bag. One can choose a mini projector of higher output luminosity and use it with a portable screen for outdoor presentations. No fancy setup or even power supply is required for these projectors as they have a battery backup of an hour or two.

Like most other devices, even a portable projector packs additional features. Some projectors boast a small and compact size and have an inbuilt OS, onboard memory, of 2 to 4 Gb and can also be Wi-Fi enabled. Couple such projectors with a wireless keyboard and mouse and you'll have a laptop in your hands. A portable projector can display a projection that is 60" to 100" wide. This makes it a better option for presentations than a laptop, especially at times when a person is travelling from one client to another or when one has to deliver a presentation to a small group.

At home, portable projectors can be used for home theatres or to share videos and photos with friends or as gaming consoles in kids’ rooms. They need a fraction of investment as compared to other devices like large LCDs or digital frames, and they can be used at multiple places as opposed to the large devices that remain fixed. The portable projector is thus a cost effective and smart solution to the needs of homes or offices.
