A Smart Data Projector

on Wednesday, 10 September 2014. Posted in Blog

Gone are the days when a data projector weighed a couple of kilos and stayed fixed on a ceiling or rooted to a table. Today, most corporate and home entertainment systems rely on a portable data projector. A portable projector is easy to carry around and it removes the constraints of installation of a fixed screen for display or availability of a power supply or problems with viewing angle. The projection size can also vary and the range can go from 7" to 100". Thus, a portable projector can be used to deliver presentations to an audience in the boardroom or to watch movies on the big screen at home.

A regular data projector can only be connected to a laptop or computer but the new generation of data projectors can connect to iPod, smartphones, DVD, tablets and even the good old laptops and computers. Most portable data projectors are small enough to fit into your laptop bag, some are smaller and can even fit in your pocket. They weigh a couple of hundred grams depending on their size. A few smart projectors go beyond the realm of projections and embed within them a host of smart features. A high end portable data projector can have an entire operating system onboard with Wi-Fi connectivity, storage space and SD card slot. So it completely eliminates the need of carrying a laptop.

The new age projectors also have inbuilt speakers. Now that means that you can carry your home theatre with you anywhere. If you are camping in the wild, the rechargeable batteries can give a backup of sixty to ninety minutes and you can carry a spare battery for additional power. At home, a data projector provides the most inexpensive way of setting up a home theatre and for an enhanced movie experience, a portable projector screen can be used. Not only is this a great way of watching movies but also an innovative way of sharing pictures and videos with family and friends. If your data projector has Wi-Fi, you can directly connect to the internet and share videos and pictures from Facebook, Picasa, etc.

A portable data projector has definitely emerged as the most preferred choice of projectors due to its exceptional flexibility in terms of location, usage and even storage.
